2001 Chrysler Dreambuilder Scribe Award Winner:

27 year old LaTanya Quintela currently resides in Lansing, Michigan with her husband, Jim, daughter, Ashli and son, Zaq. She has been writing poetry and short stories "since she could spell", but In The Net will be her first produced script.

LaTanya drew on her own experience with racial and cultural tension and mistrust. She set In the Net on ice to reflect her husband's love of hockey. He appears as one of the skaters in the movie while she is seen in the library, studying. It's no coincidence that two of the characters in her story, both positive influences, are named after her children.
