Procter & Gamble Dreambuilder Scribe Award
Winners:
Shawn Scott is a native of Cincinnati,
OH. She received her degree in liberal arts
from the University of Cincinnati. She is
an editor for Bawn Publishers Literary Agency.
Shawn has been writing most of her life. Her
purpose through writing is to inspire individual
and societal change. Shawn's work is supported
by her mother, Beverly Nason, and her daughter,
India Jones. Our Father is dedicated to the
memory of Shawn's father, Wesley Scott.
Jeff Shelby is also a native of Cincinnati,
OH. As a young man he became interested in
television programming and writing. His love
for both continued and grew throughout high
school and later at the University of Cincinnati.
At UC, Jeff majored in Electronic Media and
minored in Social Work hoping to find a way
to incorporate his talents with writing into
working with children.
Two years ago, a friend suggested Jeff meet
Shawn Scott. News stories and personal experience
compelled Shawn to write about the impact
of absentee fathers and the repeating cycle
of emotional upheaval. Jeff was immediately
drawn by the concept and the two began working
together. It took a year and a half to develop
the characters of Our Father, and four months
to write the actual script.
