CELEBRATION MOVIE, "THE MOVEMENT,"
WINS FIVE EMMY AWARDS
April 28, 2002: "The Movement",
the 2001 Procter & Gamble Dreambuilder
Celebration Scribe award-winning movie,
was awarded five Emmys by the Ohio Valley
Chapter of the National Academy of Television
Arts & Sciences.
"The Movement", written by Sandra
W. French, takes a hard look at personal
responsibility and commitment and the role
each of us plays in shaping our communities
and our own lives.
Last night's awards marked firsts for writer
French and actor William Stanford Davis
("Silas" in The Movement).
"The Movement" captured Emmys
for:
· "Outstanding Achievement
for Informational Programming" Jim
Friedman, Producer,
· "Outstanding Achievement
for Individual Craft Achievements off Camera
- Writing" Sandra W. French,
· "Outstanding Achievement
for Individual Excellence on Camera - Performers"
William Stanford Davis,
· "Outstanding Achievement
for Individual Craft Achievements off Camera
- Photography" Mark Ovington, and
· "Outstanding Achievement
for Individual Craft Achievements off Camera
- Lighting" Mark Ovington.
"The Movement" is the sixth Dreambuilder
Celebration movie to be awarded multiple
Emmys, winning five of the Celebration's
twenty awards to date. The most recent Dreambuilder
movie, "In the Net" becomes eligible
for Emmy consideration later this year.
The annual Dreambuilder Celebration movie
is the result of our year-long Dreambuilder
Celebration project. Entries for this year's
competition are being accepted until June
14th.
Opportunities for internships and mentorships,
educational seminars and theatrical performances
are included in the Dreambuilder program.
